What is a dental crown?

A dental crown, or a tooth cap, is a custom-made restoration that fits over the entire visible part of a damaged tooth, down to the gum line. It provides strength and protection for your tooth and restores the tooth’s original shape and size. Our dental crowns are typically made from strong, durable porcelain, for a natural-looking result.

Do I need a dental crown?

Your dentist may recommend a crown if you have a tooth that is badly broken, cracked, severely worn down, or weakened by a very large filling. Dental crowns can also be used to protect a tooth after root canal treatment, or for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of a misshapen or discoloured tooth.
