Porcelain Veneers

Book a Consultation

Veneers are thin layers of tooth coloured porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of the tooth.

Why are veneers used?

Veneers are used to address certain dental conditions such as:

  • Fractured or chipped teeth

  • Worn or small teeth

  • Crowded or spaced teeth

  • Discoloured teeth

  • Enhance your current smile ‘smile makeover’

What are they made of?

Here at Precision Dental Clinic we use the highest-grade quality of veneers made from EMAX® porcelain. These materials have been specifically designed to withstand immense amounts of pressure but not tarnish its faultless appearance so that the perfect smile can be created.

What is the process of the treatment?

Consultation:

At your consultation with our dentists at Precision Dental Clinic we will discuss what you are looking to achieve with cosmetic dental treatment. We need to understand your concerns with your smile so that we are effective in providing the relative solution to surpass all expectations with the treatment we provide.

We will take digital photographs of your teeth so that your smile can be discussed subjectively and converse the various options available to you. All risks and benefits will be discussed with you so that the treatment is fully understood. We can then plan the treatment for your new smile.

Design:

With all the information we collect from you we will work with our lab technician to create a wax up and design for your new smile. As the design is created in wax we can try the new smile over your teeth so that we can view the end results prior to us preparing your teeth for the final veneer fit. At this stage we can make any adjustments or amendments as necessary. Once we are satisfied with the wax up design we can proceed to the preparation of the teeth.

Prepare:

At the preparation stage we aim to use minimal preparation and in some cases no preparation is required. This is extremely important as we can reverse the treatment if necessary. During the preparation a small slither of the enamel is removed and the tooth surfaces are conservatively reduced so that the tooth structure is persevered. Following the preparation, the teeth are ready for the veneers to be bonded to the tooth surfaces. Master impressions will then be taken and we will make you provisional veneers using the wax up design to allow your mouth to become accustomed ready for the final units.

Create:

Under our guidance our lab technician will make the final veneers, it will take approximately 2 weeks, during this time period we can use teeth whitening treatments for your surrounding teeth so that the teeth are synchronised in colour. We will arrange for you to meet our lab technician for the final shade match to add micro anatomy to each veneer so that it fits the profile of the surrounding teeth so that they look as natural as possible.

Fit:

At the fit stage we will remove the provisional units and bond the veneers to the teeth using high strength bonding agents, any excess cement is removed and the veneers are polished ready for you to see.

Digital photographs will be taken of the veneers to present to you so that you can see the transition of the teeth before and after. Please view our smile gallery to see examples of our cases.

Aftercare:

As with any dental treatments regular dental examinations and dental hygiene cleaning is advised as and is key maintenance for all of our dental treatments.

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are a cost-effective way to achieve the smile you desire however rather than using EMAX® porcelain we use a tooth coloured resin which can be applied directly to the tooth. Composite veneers will correct the majority of dental conditions like porcelain veneers however there are limitations as they are not as robust as EMAX®. however composite veneers are generally completed in one visit.

Any veneer or cosmetic dentistry requires skill and experience as the attention to detail of treatment has to be flawless be throughout, here at precision dental clinic we have a wealth of experience with this treatment so that you receive the highest standard of care and treatment.
